What is a completely free movie editing program for Windows 2000?
Windows Movie Maker only works with XP and Vista. I need a completely free one (or a trial version that gives you the full program for at least 7 days). It has to be able to import WMV files and has to have the feature that allows you to add music/sound effects. Obviously, other basic features are needed too.

There isn’t one. Win2K is a dead dinosaur you need to upgrade it as it is no longer supported by Windows.
