Is a career in film editing for me?
I love and enjoy editing videos and want to do it for a job. I used to edit xbox COD4 montages and was well known and popular for my editing over xbox. That’s amateur stuff but do you think with some of my experience i will be good at editing or atleast will be able to excel quickly in that career choice?
Also, any suggestions on programs to use or tips or techniques to incorperate into my editing?
Im 15 and i use AAE CS4 and Sony Vegas Pro 8.
There are actually classes you can take at some community colleges and universities. Try various movie makers that you can download for free online. The more practice the better. The main thing you have to learn to deal with is monotony. It takes and hour to do a ten minute news real, movies are another ball game. Remember, when you edit a movie, a real movie, you edit footage, then then sound, then music, and then effects.
