Why do movies and home movies / tv shows look different?
I noticed that professionally made movies have more vivid, dark colors, and tv shows or home videos have a lighter tint, with less contrast. Why is this?
Movies are recorded on “film” that has better color/resolution than Video tapes.
Home cameras have also rather cheap CCDs and optical lenses so the resolution is lower and overall contrast is less.
