special effects on windows movie maker
Windows Movie Maker: opinions on this program? is it to be taken seriously?can I make a quality movie with it?

I’m making a feature length film that I want to submit to festivals. I have a high quality camera, and mics, I just want to know which editing programs will do the job without any quality loss. I don’t need any special effects, or even any fade ins, or outs. Can windows movie maker suffice?

No windows movie maker is for beginners. It simply does not have the features necessary to make a professional looking video. Someone mentioned Adobe Premier. It is very good but has several major drawbacks. first it cost big bucks $$$. Second it takes a long time to learn how to use it. There are many video editing suites that also allow you to burn a dvd when you finish editing. I’ve tried many and un-installed most from my computer. The one I have used and like is Power Director by Cyberlink. I currently use version 5. I had version 6 but had problems with computability with my computer. I reverted back to using version 5. I have produced 9 instructional videos which I sell. You can still find Power Director version 5 from time to time selling on ebay.

Best of Luck!
