why do women want babies so badly?
aside from nature programming most of them that way, what for? and with so much fervor? i don’t get it, you’d think it was a miracle and it isn’t (definition of miracle: an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that SURPASSES ALL KNOWN HUMAN OR NATURAL POWERS and is ascribed to a supernatural cause) it’s only a miracle to that individual. do they want to feel like god? feeling unloved? needy? need to feel special? have too much money? too much time? lonely? i know there are lots of reason (good and bad) but i feel that if they look deep down inside themselves the answer is a bit more selfish.

i know not all women do, i’m talking in generalities.
I have often wondered that myself. Why do some women link their identity with their ability to bear children. Why does our society/culture continue to place such importance on this? Shouldn’t we be past this? Why do we keep teaching our daughters that this is what women are expected to do that it is part of what makes women important?
Ok this might make some people angry but I am going to say it anyway. You see these couples who have no children. They try and try and try and they don’t get pregnant. In my opinion if you don’t get pregnant naturally your body is telling you something and that is that it is not capable of carrying a child. However, the couple goes on to in vitro and all this other fancy stuff and instead of one baby ends up with 4 or 5 in a body that was saying hey I can’t even carry 1! Then the babies are born 3 months early often on life support costing 100,000s or even millions of $$$ and sometimes not living, ending up needing multiple surgeries throughout their life and having special needs as they grow up! It blows my mind and makes me so angry!
I just don’t understand why a person can be that selfish as to risk the lives and futures of these babies like that. Has our culture ingrained in women that you have to have a child or you are not complete? Is it to the point that they will risk their own lives and the lives of babes?
I totally agree with you it just doesn’t make sense!
