special effect for movies

One of the biggest surprises of the 2009 movie season was the commercial success of Star Trek. Based on the television series (and subsequent movies) this film went where no Trek movie had gone before, raking in more than $200 million in US box office receipts. Why was it so commercially profitable when the most recent Trek feature films had performed so poorly?
In a word, Star Trek is good. That is why it was such a hit. The film garnered extremely positive word of mouth from movie-goers who that the film packed a great deal of humor, visual effects and charm. Unlike previous Trek films, this movie appealed to both women and men and the box office take reflects that fact.
The film stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as the young James Kirk and Spock. The movie tells the story of their meeting, rough patches and the culmination of a friendship. The first three quarters of the movie features these two legendary characters as rivals pitted against one another. This is quite refreshing as the audience is very accustomed to Kirk and Spock operating as best friends. The change in the dynamic gives the film a fresh feel.
Also it helps that all of the major parts are played by actors under 35. One of the problems with Star Trek has always been the fact that the main characters were all over 50 years old. By the time of the final Star Trek movies featuring the original cast, the fact of the matter was that many of the actors were over 60 and a few were over 70. Having a young cast makes the movie feel more full of life which for a long time Star Trek has been devoid of.
Finally, this movie works because the special effects are handled terrifically. Many of the earliest Star Trek adventures featured special effects that look silly by today’s standards. Even when they were released many of the visuals were second rate even by contemporary standards. But that is hardly the case with the new feature. The presentation is spectacular. Huge world and set pieces were created that give this film a look and visual scope that exceeds anything that has been done before. The special effects are, in a word, outstanding.
I recommend this movie to any science fiction and action film enthusiasts who have not yet had a chance to see it. It is the most interesting and exciting film in the Trek canon thus far.
