What color is blood plasma?

When you separate blood plasma from the red blood cells what color is it? I have heard that it is a straw yellow color, is this correct? Also, does anyone know if blood banks keep the white blood cells and platelets when separated from plasma, or are they disposed of?

yes, the color should be a pale translucent straw-yellow. if it’s pink the rbc had been lysed–not good.

sorry don’t know about what happens with what’s spun down.
