how to get windows movie maker effects

Have you written lots of articles for your web sites, blogs, newsletters etc?

Video article marketing is a way to attract tons of new visitors by repurposing your written content.

Ways to convert your textual content to video articles

1. Read the content on video

This is probably the easiest way to quickly create a video article. Video tap yourself reading the content of your article in front of the camera. If you want to liven it up a little memorize the main points of your article, look directly into the camera and speak without always looking down to read the text. You’ll appear more relaxed and also keep your visitors attention.

2. Create a slide show with Windows Paint

Windows Paint is a free application that comes with every Windows Computer. It’s not as good as Microsoft Power Point however it’s free. Simply open a new window, click on the text icon then insert the words for your first slide. You can be as creative as like. When you’ve completed the first slide  save it as an image file (ie slide.jpg) then create the next one. Keep the slides in order by numbering them sequentially.

3. Create your video using Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker is also a free application that’s included with every Windows Computer.

Here’s the steps to create your video article:

  • Import the slides you created by clicking on “Pictures” under the “Import” menu.
  • Drag and drop each slide onto the storyboard.
  • Add music to your slideshow by using a microphone (you can pick up a simple one at an office or computer store). (Alternatively you can use the microphone that’s built into your computer however it may not produce good quality sound). You can also download royalty free music (Google “royalty free music”). Once you’ve downloaded a few clips you can use it for all your videos.
  • To import your music clips, click on the “music” button under the “import” tab, and select your audio track. Next, drag the music down to the storyboard.
  • Play around with all the settings, specifying the time that each slide stays on the screen, adding transition effects. etc.
  • When you’ve got the slideshow how you want, click “publish movie” to create a wmv file and you’re finished!
You can now upload your video to YouTube and other video sharing sites.

Tip

To create a more professional sideshow use Microsoft Power point then record it using a screen capture program called Camtasia.
