gallons of fake blood
Any info on black mollies?

I was wondering if fake plants are fine for mollies and if tropical fish food works for them as well? If you have any information that i might need on black mollies please tell me…no links please. I dont like reading all that stuff in which some of it is normally pointless. Just give me the information i need please.

I know blood worms work as part of their diet and that i need a 30 gallon tank for them with good filteration. Can they live in a 75 degree F

Fake plants are fine for Mollies and if you have live ones, they would probably eat them over time. Fish flake for tropical fish is fine for them, and the blood worms are fine, but I give my mollies algae wafers as well. They love algae wafers and veggie pellets. Blanched or par-boiled veggies like spinach or cucumber is good for them too.

Some people here will probably tell you that all mollies need aquarium salt and that they are brackish water fish. Honestly, all mollies can tolerate freshwater or brackish water except for the Yucatan molly which needs salt in their water. If you ONLY have mollies in your tank, you can definitely put aquarium salts (1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water).

Mollies prefer a temp from 70-82F so 75F is just fine for them. They prefer a little more alkaline water than other fish (7.5-8.5).

Just make sure if you don’t want any fry (babies) then you will need to get only one sex per tank. If you do want fry make sure to use the ratio of 2 females per 1 male molly so the girlies don’t get harassed to death.

Make sure to cycle your tank before you buy your fish (just in case you don’t know.)
