fake blood set
I just bought a king betta and I was wondering if anyone has any useful tips?

I also bought a 1.5 gallon tank with a filter and lamp, waiting for betta plant bulbs to grow, fake plants, betta food and freeze dried blood worms. The tank is set up and I also added water conditioner…do I have to wait for tank water to age at all? It’s been an hour so far…but any advice would be greattt!
I don’t think a 1.5 gallon is too small for one betta? I’ve had a goldfish in a bowl that lived for a while… and a friend had a beta in a vase for a while as well. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a ‘death trap’. 5 gallons…if you were breeding or something

Ideally you should have purchased a bigger tank, as the tank (or ‘death-trap’ would be a more suitable term) is far too small for any fish. The minimum tank size that I would recommend for a single Betta is five gallons (with a filter and heater).

Before you can add fish you need to cycle the filter however since you’ve already purchased the livestock you will need to keep a close eye on the water quality, feed sparingly and carry out water changes as and when necessary.

Edit: Compare the differences between ‘living’ and ‘thriving’. Your fish were very lucky in this case, fish don’t always have to show external signs that something is wrong. A five gallon tank is the absolute minimum required by these fish, and there is scientific evidence to back this up.
