cord blood banks in usa

Cord blood banking with Lifebank USA?
I have just called about 6 blood banking services and the best one in my opinion price wise and also heavily regulated is Lifebank USA. Has anyone used their services? If so how do you like them?
I do not have nay personal experience with Lifebank USA, but I can tell you, if you have a public cord blood bank in your area, that would be your best option. Public cord blood banks are free because you are essentially donating the cord blood if it should be needed by another child, but at the same time, your baby is added to the national registry if he/she should ever need cord blood. I will also tell you that there has never been a case where a child’s own cord blood from a private bank has been given to them to treat or cure an illness. If your child will need cord blood in the future, it will come form an anonymous donor to a public cord blood bank. Public banks are regulated by the FDA, and every donation is tested to ensure its potency should it ever be needed. A private bank may bank your cord blood, and charge you, but should you ever need to use that blood, the TCP count or volume may not even be high enough for an appropriate transfusion because they do not check that prior to banking. Anyway, ask around, if you have a public bank, that is the way to go.
