Anyone know of any Cord Blood Banking places in Northern Ireland? Or how I could find out?
I’m due my second baby in November and would like to save the cord blood from this baby as I keep hearing how important and helpful it could be in years to come in fighting against fetal diseases.
Congratulations and I think your decision is a very good one. The only information I know about this is because my friend wanted to donate cord blood here in Northern Ireland last year. I don’t know if it is different for different hospitals here but in Antrim Area there was no facilities to do this at the time. I think she had asked her midwives about it. If she had wanted to keep it she would have had to pay for a private company to collect and store it. So I’d ask your midwives and/or consultant about any facilities. I’m sure they could put you into contact with a private firm if that is what you want too. There are several listed on the internet too.
