blood banks donation
Prove! my donation was used?
Okay, so I donate platelets to the blood bank. But they never offer proof that my donation is being used & not just put in the hazardous rubbish container.No one can show me how often the platelets are used & how often the platelets are thrown away because they have expired.
Are blood banks really using all the donations they are receiving? Or is it possible banks are not using the donated blood & getting paid to collect blood that isn’t used?
There are many tines the donation of whole blood, plasma and platelets will not be used; it definitely does have a restricted shelf life, but those donations still need to be given so the have a supply on hand when the need arrives. No one can predict need; some donation may never be used and will be discarded, but it never lessens the need to have them to be ready in time of need.
